Meditating on a regular basis will calm your thoughts and mind. Not only will you be relieved of some of the stresses you have endured but the way your mind deals with stress in the first place will change.

The brain works at several different frequencies. These frequencies correlate with the conscious state that the brain is operating at. When conscious the brain will be operating at the beta frequency and as you gradually reach unconsciousness the brain travels through alpha and theta. When the mind is totally unconscious and at ease it will be operating at delta.

When operating in delta the brain is not as busy and cluttered with thought. The mind is able to create a greater flow of creativeness. This is because you can access levels of the brain that cannot be accessed other wise.
